HallOUween and One More Week

Last Saturday was HallOUween (we’re OU hence the clever misspelling), or my university’s Halloween block party/ an excuse to get dressed up and drink. Before I settled on media and business I originally wanted to minor in Sociology so I use HallOUween as a “people watching” experience. Never fails: upper class-men know the drill, drink at home – there are cops all over the place, dress warmly – Ohio seems to know that about 40,000 people will be out at sometime in the night so let’s drop 20 degrees, and you MUST ask to pet the mounted police horses – it’s assaulting an officer if you don’t. 9/10 if you see someone in skimpy clothes, publicly drunk, and/or get arrested for “assault on a horse” (yes it happened once this year) they are either an “out of towners” or an under class-men. All in all it was good night, not too many things. Turing in at 10pm, following AthensScanner on twitter, and watching The Two Towers was the highlight of my day.

Next Week – Week 11 is my second round of Midterms. What?! Second Midterms, that makes no sense! Mid terms are suppose to be in the middle of the semester. Yeah, well tell that to my professors. Two exams -thankfully not on the same day, but close enough that I cry a little and two papers; and a project that my professor doesn’t seem to know exactly what he wants and keep changing the requirements. Plus another exam the following week. Ugh! Work, work work… not too bad though, could be worse.

The Hobbit: AUJ EE comes out on DVD Tuesday, advanced tickets for Desolation of Smaug comes out Nov. 21, Catching Fire comes out Nov. 22, Thor is out next Friday, and top it off I finally get to go see Romeo + Juliet on Broadway next Sunday. Impromptu weekend trip to New York with my mum. All those things make me so excited that Week 11 seems worth it!!

42 Days until the Desolation of Smaug 🙂
